Im going back to my roots . I just got back from Las Vegas, with Modenus and Blogtour, where I was able to have a Creative Reset! See, I use to be a stay at home mom who was once an interior designer, who turned blogger. When I switched from being a blogger who use to be a designer, to a Interior Designer who now also has a blog, a lot changed.
When I created Design Thoughts Interiors, My time was limited, and I had only a few days a week to focus on my clients ( my son was still home). I also enrolled in various entrepreneurial/ women in business webinars and multi course biz seminars. These courses spoke about the link to success and only writing a blog that acts as a sales funnel for your business. Well, my inspiration left me pretty quickly, and I went though many shifts and changes about what I wanted to “Put out there”. I was thinking WAY too much about “What is correct”. Now, Liam is in kindergarten and I am missing writing! Operation Creative Reset has begun.
For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, you will remember that on Design Thoughts Blog, I use to post things like, DIY’s, How to furnish a New York Apartment on a budget, mommy posts and above all else, inspiration and side projects I created! I dont do that anymore. I miss it.
If I have learned anything in the last 40 years of my life, its that the journey is constantly changing, and that for me, success in business is not directly linked to sales funnels ( although I completely now understand to run a business, there must be sales..duh) . Its directly linked to sharing our authentic voice, while understanding business, and not losing ourselves in the process.
So here I go, once again, on what feels like authenticity. Inspired by design, inspired by powerful women in business, inspired by contrast and color and music and fabric. Inspired by spirituality and connection to others. Inspired by the cities I have lived in and the city that is now home. And so, for this season, this is me. This is also Design Thoughts and all it encompasses.
I cant wait to tell you all about #blogtourKBIS and the fabulous inspiring women and Business owners I met. I cant wait to write all about our amazing sponsors who created a beautiful experience while we were in Vegas, and even now that we are home! Creative Reset in progress ! join me wont you?
XO, KIM
