Happy Design Tip Tuesday! I have been getting a lot of emails and Instagram questions lately, asking me for quick, affordable and easy ways to add a few design elements to different spaces around your homes!! One of the things i LOVE about being an interior designer, is helping people with THIS exact thing, so PLEASE keep the questions coming!!
Today I am talking about the basics needed, to style your nightstands. See list below to see all things you will want to start with!
There are a lot of other objects that work just as well ( Candles, trinkets, small figurines) but the above list is what I realize I use most often.
So to start, find a cool tray. I always look at flea markets and garage sales, but also look at places like home goods and TJ maxx. You don’t have to spend a lot of money for the base piece.
Next add lighting, and begin to layer books, and collections such as shells or crystals ( rocks, a glass full of matchbooks or any other little collections work well too) along with fresh or dried flowers. I used a sprig of Eucalyptus here.
Add a colorful frame and enough space to hold a glass of water for night time, and VOILA, your nightstand is styled!
Dont forget to send me your design questions! I will be answering them each week!
Signing off from Myrtle Beach!!!
