Happy Monday!
We spent this past weekend decorating for Christmas, and really getting into the spirit of the holiday!! There is nothing I love more than seeing my sons face when we talk about the Christmas countdown!! This year, I decided to make my own advent, and make it really special by counting down the week before Christmas. I love DIY projects, and I decided to come up with something using things I already had!! Voila!! 7 Day Advent Countown!!
What you will need:
Toilet paper rolls, A stencil ( I cut mine from an old business card), paint, Ribbon or bakers twine, a crayon and a paint brush.
Unlike some DIY Projects I have done in the past, this one literally took about 20 minutes from start to finish. SO.SIMPLE.
Using the stencil, paint a circle in the middle of the toilet paper roll. I chose to use a medium Grey. After you let the paint dry, use a bright crayon to add the numbers. Next run a piece of string/ribbon or bakers twine through the roll, and tie at the top. Last, fold in the ends of the toilet paper roll.
I am going to be adding a little trinket to each roll, and each morning, Liam will have to find the coordinating day to countdown. A fun, inexpensive way to be festive. Did I mention I love DIY projects that are cheap, easy and FUN!!!
I just love how these little rolls look hanging on the tree!!! A few things I will put inside:
Quarters, Lego Mini Figures, Bouncy Balls, and Tootsie rolls. It doesn’t have to be expensive to be festive.
I decided to add glitter to the last one, which will be opened on Christmas Eve.
Enjoy the rest of your week!! Let me know if you try this!! I would love to see yours!!
