I cant believe it is already the first week of June! I actually did this little project with Liam about A month ago, and just didn’t have a chance to go through the pictures until now. This was a super fun tactile project that I first saw on “Play At Home Mom“!
What You will need:
Cooked Spaghetti
Large Ziploc bags
Virgin Olive Oil
Food Coloring
An old Sheet
STEP ONE: After changing your little one into old clothes (just in case of staining) …Boil the noodles! I made a whole box, and next time I think I will make 2 boxes, just so I have a little more for Liam to play with.
STEP TWO: Strain and rinse the noodles
STEP THREE: Divide the noodles equally into as many bags as you have colors for.
STEP FOUR: Add about a TSP of EVOO to each bag and squish it around to coat the noodles, this helps them to not stick together once you add the food coloring. ( I let Liam do this part and he loved it)
STEP FIVE: Let your little one add the food coloring to each bag, and let them squish it around until the noodles are coated.
Liam LOVED this project!! He was totally able to help, which of course, is MAJOR for an almost three yr old, and once the noodles were colored, we had fun cutting, and dividing and just feeling them! I love food projects because I don’t care if Liam eats it!! Which he did, and so did our weenie, I’mah ;). It was a beautiful day So I set this all up on our front porch. I know some of you I told about this wondered if the food coloring stains..my answer is..Kind Of…Its not the type of staining that I care about, meaning, Liam had some green on his fingers afterwords. Just make sure they are in old clothes.
It ended up being a GREAT project that kept us busy for an entire hour!!!
I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!!
