A few weeks back we had a string of many beautiful, sun filled, almost summer like, days here in New York!! So it was perfect timing to break out the food coloring and ice cubes!!! ( we also did a food coloring spaghetti activity that i will share next week) I have become absolutly obsessed with a website for moms called “Play at Home Mom LLC” !! SO many great and easy ideas for your kiddos of all ages..that is where I got this idea!
All you will need is :
Food Coloring
An Old sheet , blanket or towel
Ice Cube trays
Water Color paper (only because its thick, and it wont rip)
The first thing to do is make sure you put your babes in old clothes, or clothes that you dont care about…food coloring comes out, but the last thing you want to do when doing a fun project, is care at all about getting dirty…also, they are absolutely going to put this colored ice in their mouth..its ok..its just food coloring 🙂 Let them enjoy it!!
Start with fun ice cube trays if you have them. I bought these fishy ice cube trays at Ikea for $2.99
Liam LOVED watching the fishies melt in the sun, and when he found out he could eat them,he was so excited!
This is the final product of a super fun activity that took up about 35 minutes!! a WIN in my book 😉
I am planning on framing this, and hanging it with our other important “pieces” on our collage wall!!
Hope you are having an awesome Friday!!
