A few weeks ago, I was invited by Forest Home media, to join a wonderful, talented group of Bloggers and designers, to be among the first, to tour the brand new Nashville Symphony Showhouse, and enjoy an invitation only garden party. I desperately want to show you every last photo I took, however, I just found out that all photos taken with an Iphone, don’t transfer to WordPress the right way!! ( say What!??) so to see every last drop of Showhouse goodness, hop over to my Instagram @designThoughtsInteriors ( while you do that, I will continue to take full, deep breaths over the amount of hours it has taken me to determine that I held my iPhone the wrong way!)
As I walked in, my eyes were instantly drawn to the mix of textures and finishes, amazed at how beautifully, rustic antiques, and tailored details played so nicely together. The design style is described as ” Southern Contemporary Folk” my new favorite interior style!
I first walked into the kitchen, among the other bloggers and designers, who all were giddy to be getting the sneak peek! We all walked in with mouths wide open as we experienced the 12 1/2 foot Island, made of 300 year old white oak, by Hammer Designs, Inc. (above photo) What a Stunner!!
There was such a beautiful theme of crisp detail, paired with comfortable style. The team of designers did such a great job, bringing their own style to each room they designed, while still honoring the personality of the home ( Ps, I have been to a few that did not play well together!)
When I walked into the living room, I was pleasantly greeted by Deb Tallent and Abby Simmons, who explained the meaning behind some of the pieces. If you know me and my brand, telling the story of pieces to create meaningful design, is my jam. This amazing piece, used as a console table, is actually an antique “Baguette holder” from France. As the warm baguettes came out of the oven, the baker would throw them into this piece to cool.
Then there was this beauty ( above) with the gorgeous wood planks coming directly from the old Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville. Imagine all of the fun had on those boards!!
Here are a few more of my favorite “Moments” throughout the Nashville Symphony Showhouse!
The beautiful Master Suite, designed by Julie Couch Interiors
The Master bed, reflected in this gorgeous mirror ( above), is to die for, no?
I mean, LOOK at the crisp detail in this bathroom!!
And how about this amazing Laundry room ( called the Family Organization center) by the design team at Castle Homes? Do you LOVE that table?!
Here are a few more shots of the beautiful interiors!
The his and hers guest bedrooms and bath, designed by Rozanne Jackson Interiors for The Iron Gate. ( That ceiling light though!!)
After we walked through the showhouse, we were treated to a wonderful surprise! Carmen Johnston ( Carmen Johnston Gardens), along with Southern Living, gifted us with a DIY take home container garden, that Carmen helped us plant! We also were treated to a beautiful afternoon tea party hosted by Miss Daisy King, as well as meeting author, Troy Marden and receiving an autographed copy of his awesome book, Southern Gardner’s Handbook!!!!
What a wonderful day, and a gorgeous house! There is SO much more to see, but you will have to go visit to see it all!!! This is the last weekend to tour the house. All proceeds raised help the Nashville Symphony! Thank you to Forest Home Media for including me!
XO. Kim
