Or “Moving Madnesss”…or I was even considering the title..”An OHM a midst Chaos” . I would love to start this post with something like “With exactly (fill in the blank) amount of days until the move….” but I cant do that. We have no home to go to quite yet in Nashville. As of this very minute, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, VERY excited and a bit of anxiousness. Although I know the perfect home is waiting for us, its a tough pill to swallow that we haven’t been able to find it yet!! We have been packing like crazy, knowing that we need to be in Nashville before the end of the year. Our home(here in NY) is full of boxes and half packed walls and rooms, and little Liam is not even CLOSE to warming up to the idea of a big move. In fact just this morning he was crying..like real tears crying, when he asked if our house in Nashville would be by the school park ( his favorite park that we walk to all the time) when I explained to him that our new home, wont have this exact park, but Im sure there will be a park close by, he sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. My heart broke for the millionth time, then I reminded him, and myself, that Nashville is going to be AWESOME and I know change feels scary a little, but daddy will be home more and thats going to feel good. UGH!!
Even with all of that said…there are a few things that are helping me hold onto the strings of calmness that go along with the ropes of overwhelm.
1. My ultimate TRUST in my gut feeling that this is the right move. I know like I know Like I know..it IS right.
2. Color Coding all of our boxes for each room using extremely fun Duck Tape colors (Side Note: I usually call it Duct tape btw, but the actual packages, say Duck tape)
If you can believe..this was actually my husbands idea!! We have rolls and rolls of colorful duck tape, and we know how crazy a move can get ( it was just 8 short years ago that we moved from MI to NY) anyway, its keeping me SANE among all the boxes!
3. A beautiful little book called “Bella and Stella Come Home” by Anika Denise- If you know of anyone with children who are moving..buy this book for them. Its the sweetest book about a little girl and her stuffed elephant, and all the emotions that go along with moving to a new house. Even though Liam is not happy about moving, he requests this book every single night, we have
re-newed it from the library so many times that i finally just ordered it through Amazon.
4. Making a goal of packing at least (2) boxes per night. Most nights we only do 2, some nights we do more, some nights we are way too exhausted to even think about packing, but the fact that we are getting a jump start makes me happy. I can see our progress, and although we still have a SHIT pile of packing left to do ( did I swear?) I am glad we are moving forward!!
5. Other random things helping with my sanity in an insane time..Bogle Petit Shiraz, Thursday Night Vision circle, Tuesday night Aisle 6 Calls, My “Moms Just Being” community, my family who are nothing but EXCITED for us, Daily meditation, Bogle Petit Shiraz,(twice) All of our friends, flexible jobs in NY with bosses that have been overwhelmingly understanding, and my excitement for our family of three and the future that we are creating!!!
Have a happy Monday!!
Love, Kim

Haha that is such a good idea, to color code with duck tape! Never seen any other tape but brown or silver though, that zebra pattern looks cool.
