Before I even write this post, I just have to ask you to forgive my shotty pics…I am still in the “New Blogger” category apparently. Meaning, I don’t always have my good camera with me…and I should, so, the pics in todays post are taken on my cell phone, so ghetto, but I just love this place so much, I decided to share my ghetto fantastic pics with you anyway!
Its a small town right on the Hudson River, about 20 mins from my house…I come here when I need inspiration, or solice, or peace, or in last weeks case, a great birthday gift for an amazing little boy 🙂 ( Liams B.F.F Cole)
Piermont, NY is the amazing little secret hideaway I am talking about…Its not really a secret, or a hideaway actually, but it feels that way as you turn off route nine and head down the steep steep hill, past amazing little jewels of houses, brightly colored with beautiful flower boxes on the windows..the houses are each unique, not amazing architecture, but stunning character, and I will take that any day when looking at homes!! The business district is a flower lined street, with quaint little shops, gallery’s and restaurants. Bunburys is a great little coffee shop that feels like a friends house, brightly colored and lined with bookshelves, with the best homemade Chocolate chip cookies EVER!
Another thing I love about Piermont, is the pride you can tell everyone has for their community here, lush flowers in all of the yards, carefully selected house colors, white picket fences!! its like a fairy tale!! ( is that too dramatic?)
Ned Kelly &Company is an amazing Home store! |
The one thing I forgot to mention above, and one of the most important..The PIER!! its at the end of the town, and its such a great walk, you can see the Tapanzee bridge to your left as you walk out to the end, and look across the Hudson River to see Terry town on the other side. The day I came here last week, I had a very cranky toddler with me, although you can not tell from the Butterfly chair picture below. Anyway, I didn’t have the strength ( after an hour of crying, and battling) to take a leisurely stroll down the pier, so I have included some pics from a previous visit. Enjoy!
I am totally and completely inspired by this town every time I come here, and its just a little reminder to surround myself with things that make me happy!! Piermont makes me happy!!
