SO… to put it mildly..this week SUCKED!! My little town of Sloatsburg, NY was hit hard by hurricane Irene. The crazy part is, we didn’t even know it until Sunday!! G and I decided to take Liam for a walk when the weather broke, ( thinking , by the way, “hey that wasn’t so bad”) and as we got closer to the main road, we began to see the devastation, there were people being rescued, bridges out, and crying people everywhere ( including me!) it was horrible, BUT, the water receded, and we now begin to rebuild. Our dear friends, had 20 mins to pack what they could, and leave their home, by the time they were ready to leave, their home was already surrounded by the river. They lost their car in the flood waters, and are still out of their home, they stayed with us for the weekend(as there was literally no way out of our town) and we turned a horrible situation, into a laughing/crying wine fest, ending in our true gratefulness to the universe that everyone was safe. I am moving on from this tragedy, but please say a little prayer, or think a little thought of peace, for all the families in my town ( and surrounding towns) who are still displaced, and living in an elementary school! Thanks!
Now, onto something far less important, but far more exciting !! As I got home today, ( after the 45 min, wait on my own street) I saw that there was a pkg in my mail box!! Is that the best feeling EVER!! It turns out, it was a print that I had actually forgotten about, given the last weeks events!! As I opened it, I nearly cried!! IT WAS MY MICHIGAN PRINT!!! How AWESOME !! I ordered this print the second I saw it on Pinterest a few weeks ago, I followed the link back to Mandipidy, an Etsy shop that has quirky fun prints ( and other stuff too). As you all know, I am a Michigan girl at heart, that’s my home state y’all!! I hung it in our kitchen, which is the first room you enter when you come in our back door!! I LOVE IT!!

( and for only $18..that a pretty cheap thrill)!! and speaking of happiness, look at this other great find, I got from Home Goods (for only $14) A Crown pillow!! How fitting ;)!! I’m in love with it.
